About
30 years’ experience as a Court Reporter.
I trained as a Palantypist in 1990 at Snaresbrook Crown Court. Shortly thereafter I moved over to the Central Criminal Court, but I would often cover assignments at other crown courts in and around London. In 1995 I was asked to work in the private diary, so I would cover arbitrations, disciplinary hearings, employment tribunals, the Royal Courts of Justice, the Supreme Court, various courts in the UK, Inquests, Inquiries and civil matters, to name a few.
After a while I branched out to cover US depositions, so at this point I was travelling quite extensively covering areas such as personal injury, patents and corporate cases. I would also cover international arbitrations in various parts of the world.
I then gained a Level 1 Award in Deaf Awareness & Communication and began to cover speech-to-text work which varied from one-on-one assignments, medium-sized meetings up to large conferences.
In recent years I have mainly concentrated on the civil side, covering LiveNote arbitrations, as the appeal of travelling so much came to an end!
