Please note that the Institute is not an agency but an organisation which has a membership of verbatim reporters, scopists/editors and audio transcribers. Those members who choose to be listed in this public directory have provided, to our satisfaction, evidence of ongoing practice. Not all of our members opt in to appear in this public directory.

  • I started steno training at Smith Bernal (now Epiq) in 1994, and attained Accredited LiveNote Reporter status in 1996.
Since becoming freelance in 2004, I have worked in all the areas where verbatim reporting can be used, and now focus on international arbitrations, including PCA and ICSID investor-state arbitrations; depositions, including medical, patent and software matters; and Verbatim STT, at conferences and in theatres and galleries for Stagetext, as well as live and scripted captioning at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

I attained a score of 100% in my Realtime examination to become a QRR1, for which I was awarded a medal by the then President.

In 2018 I won the Betty Willett Award for outstanding achievement in the profession
