Please note that the Institute is not an agency but an organisation which has a membership of verbatim reporters, scopists/editors and audio transcribers. Those members who choose to be listed in this public directory have provided, to our satisfaction, evidence of ongoing practice. Not all of our members opt in to appear in this public directory.

  • I qualified as a stenographer in 1996 and started my career as a court reporter in the Crown Courts of London.

For 12 years, I worked as a broadcast captioner at the BBC, live subtitling a variety of programmes such as news, current affairs, sports, and lifestyle shows.

Since 2009, I have really enjoyed being a freelance speech-to-text reporter, working (onsite and remotely) on a variety of assignments, including corporate conferences, AGMs, panel discussions, seminars, meetings, and talks and shows in theatres, museums and galleries.

In addition, I also work as a verbatim, realtime court reporter, covering arbitrations, employment tribunals and court hearings, providing daily realtime transcripts.

In September, I passed with distinction the Qualified Realtime Reporter 1 examination with BIVR.

I am registered with NRCPD, as a speech-to-text reporter since May 2019.
