Please note that the Institute is not an agency but an organisation which has a membership of verbatim reporters, scopists/editors and audio transcribers. Those members who choose to be listed in this public directory have provided, to our satisfaction, evidence of ongoing practice. Not all of our members opt in to appear in this public directory.

  • For 18 years I worked in Access Services as a broadcast captioner.

    2014-2018 Ericsson
    2004-2014 Red Bee Media

    2000-2004 BBC

Having completed a court Reporting 225 wpm evening programme in 1993, in 2000 I began working for the BBC and set about to consolidate my stenography training and complete their stenography training programme.
As part of the stenography and subtitling Category A Team across BBC, RBM and Ericsson, I worked on programmes across all channels that included BBC, Sky News, Sky Sports, Channel 4, Channel 5 and BT Sport. I have also worked for international broadcasters in Canada and Australia.
I have captioned all genres of live output including sports, news, and entertainment.
I work to the highest standards, delivering a regular accuracy in peer and management testing, done monthly on any live 15-minute piece of output, the results of which are always above 98.5% - 99% and often more.

I am now a Freelance Stenographer enjoying broadening my skills and field of expertise working as a verbatim speech-to-text reporter.
I am currently providing communications support for the deaf and hard-of-hearing community.
I am reliable and highly organised. I am flexible.
