Exploring Eclipse workshop in London 22 April 2017By Mary Sorene on
A few spaces left.
See the man behind the voice – yes, those Visualizers which are done by Keith Vincent!
The April 22nd “Exploring Eclipse” workshop in London is now only a week away, and a few seats remain available if you’ve been thinking of attending.
The Eclipse workshop will be held at The Wesley Hotel, 81-103 Euston Street, London NW1 2EZ (http://www.thewesley.co.uk/). The class will run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Refreshments will be offered mid-morning and mid-afternoon. The luncheon recess will be from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. to allow time for you to eat in the hotel or find your favorite eatery or simply relax at midday.
This workshop will introduce features in the newly-released Version 8 of Eclipse 8, but it will also examine the best features of Eclipse Versions 5, 6, 7, all with a practical focus on improving translation and editing efficiency. You will probably want to bring your computer as well as your writer (steno or Palantype). However, if you learn best by just watching and taking notes, that’s fine, as well.
As previously mentioned, the group will be deliberately kept small (about 25 participants), so you’ll get plenty of attention and your questions will be very welcome. My contact with Eclipse users, be it through the e-Tips articles or the Visualizer movies or through workshops is the most gratifying work that I do, and it’s a way of sharing what I’ve learned through almost 25 years of close collaboration with Eclipse programmer Jeremy Thorne.
The price for attending the workshop is £210. Payment is needed at the time of registration. We recommend paying by means of PayPal, directing payment to Keith Vincent, firstname.lastname@example.org. (Since the workshop is not a physical item that is shipped with a tracking number, it seems to work best if you indicate that you are sending funds to friends/family rather than paying for goods.) However, if you prefer to wire funds, just contact me for banking details.
I very much look forward to your attendance at the April 22nd Eclipse workshop. If you have colleagues who would be interested in this workshop, I would appreciate your encouraging them to sign up quickly while seats are still available.
